Definition and Origin of ArrhythmiaMedical-Term-Scramble-Game-Arrhythmia

Arrhythmia (ah-RITH-me-ah) is the abnormal rhythm or rate of the heartbeat. In a healthy heart it is insignificant.

Arrhythmia is derived from arrhuthmia, Greek noun for lack of rhythm.

It is believed to be  first used in 1888 to describe irregularity of the pulse.
